Help the Din of Allah

 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تَنصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ

O you who believe!

If you help Allah, He will help you and make firm your feet.

(Muhammad: 7)

A short summary of the main points, for those who can’t be bothered with listening to all that.

  • The ayah above says that we should help Allah, but how could we possibly do something like that!? What it means is to help the Din of Allah.

  • Take advantage of five before five: youth before old age; health before sickness; wealth before poverty; free time before becoming occupied; and life before death.

  • We will not move our feet on the Day of Qiyamah until we are questioned about five things: our lifespan, how we spent it; our knowledge, how we used it; our wealth, how we earned it and how we spent it; and our body, how we utilised it.

  • Use whatever talent you have to serve the Din of Allah. And you do have a talent, even if you may not be aware of it.

  • Don’t regard doing small good deeds as being beneath you, e.g. picking dirt up from the masjid or musalla.

  • Don’t be disheartened if people don’t notice or respond to your efforts.

  • What are you doing to help the Din of Allah?
