Manifest Light

What is the status of the Noble Qur’an?

The Qur’an is such a book that were it to have been revealed on a mountain, that mountain would have crumbled to dust. It is a Weighty Word. It is an admonition from your Lord, a healing for the hearts, and a guidance and a mercy for the believers. And if there were to be any recitation which could cause the mountains to be moved, the earth to be split asunder, or the dead to be made to speak, then it would have been this Qur’an.

So what is our condition supposed to be when we hear the Qur’an being recited?

We are supposed to remain silent and pay attention; our minds should ponder on its message; our skins should shiver and we should have goosebumps; our hearts should tremble and our faith should be increased; and our eyes should overflow with tears.

Yet when was the last time you were moved to tears by the Qur’an?

The playlist below, entitled Manifest Light, was put together in the hope of helping you to achieve that state. It is a compilation of emotional and heartrending recitations of the Noble Qur’an. So switch off your lights, turn up your volume, and illuminate your heart with the Light of Allah’s Guidance.

(Once you’re done watching, highlight the text below to continue reading.)

If you found that you were able to weep or to shed a tear, then rejoice in the glad tidings of having eyes which the Fire will never touch. And if you found that you were incapable of doing so… then that alone is reason enough for you to cry… for that is a hardness of the heart.

If you don’t have time to watch all of them, then just watch the last one: Surah Haaqqah by Muhammad al-Muhaisani.
